Vasilis Stamatakis in Front of The Elite Shoe Shop circa 1966 - Image From the Collection of Vasilis Stamatakis
Whenever Vasilis Shoes are used in a shoot the excitement is palpable. Models, photographers and dressers find themselves intrigued by the shoes. Each individual shoe has its own mystique and those who participate in any event that features them feels the vibe. From the first shoot at The Palace of Knossos in Crete through disparate sites such as Pittsburgh's Andy Warhol Museum and in both elegant and rustic rural Pennsylvania venues the level of interest generated by these little masterpieces is amazing. Here follows a pastiche of images from shoots stemming from 1995 through the present by myself, Dave Rubin and Dennis Keyes. Dennis Keyes has been a true friend of 'The Shoes' and his images appear on the web as part of the prestigious Virtual Shoe Museum of Amsterdam.
Plans are underway for yet more shoots - do I hear
